David Preston

David Preston is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer.  He graduated from Aberdeen University in Law LLB (Hons) and went on to practice in Scotland.  He returned to Northern Ireland to pursue music full time and has completed various other qualifications including a Diploma in Legal Practice, Diploma in Electronic Music Production, Level 2 course in Marketing & Social Media and a Certificate in Teaching in the Life Long Learning Sector.  He has taught guitar (acoustic & electric), bass, piano, vocals, songwriting and music production in the Yamaha Music School, Armstrong Learning, Andersontown Contemporary and Traditional Music School, Mid Ulster School of Music as well as working as a music workshop facilitator for such organisations as Moving on Music, Belfast City Council, Mindwise and RNIB and is very much enjoying his time at the esteemed Ulster College of Music  His main instruments are guitar, vocals, bass guitar and double bass but he also attained a grade 5 in piano with a broken finger from playing rugby, his piano teacher was not amused but in the report it stated that he played with lots of emotion.  He is currently learning to play the drums and would like an 8 string Baritone Ukele.  He records with Cubase, Logic X, Reason and is a keen birdwatcher and foley recording artist.   He records and releases a variety of styles of music under various stage names and is an Electric Baritone Guitar enthusiast. 

David delivers a rounded musical education developing character and confidence, building student’s performance repertoire all important aims in learning an instrument as well as nurturing enthusiasm to practice, practice, practice and create a bond with an instrument.
