Kristina Hedley
Kristina is a bassoon teacher and freelance musician from Northumberland. Prior to moving to Belfast, Kristina taught and coached individuals at top schools and musical organisations across England (National Children’s Orchestra, Dartington Summer School, Royal College of Music ‘Sparks’, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Resound Programme, The Leys School Cambridge, Hertfordshire Music Service). She was awarded the Mercers’ Award for Contribution to the Community through Music in 2018.
Kristina enjoys a varied career performing bassoon and contrabassoon across England, Northern Ireland and Europe. She is a regular extra player with the Ulster Orchestra, the Hallé, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Royal Northern Sinfonia and Camerata Nordica. Kristina also enjoys performing in musical theatre and opera productions and was a member of the ensemble for the award-winning production of ‘Oliver!’ at Leeds Playhouse from 2023-2024.
Kristina studied at The Royal College of Music in London gaining both an undergraduate and postgraduate degree.
